Scott

Scott grew up in Riverton, Utah in a home that his Dad built himself. Kami likes to describe him as a, "Country boy concealed in the wrappings of a computer nerd." He loves everything about being outdoors, including hiking, camping, fly fishing, hunting, and gardening. He also loves to learn, and says that one of his life goals is to learn a little about everything possible. Scott reads, fixes computers, is a great handyman and gardener, and is just a great overall tinker-er. He also loves playing the guitar, and enjoys learning new songs for Kami or things that he can play around a camp fire.

He likes to build and create things, and continues to really enjoy doing that today. This includes building his own computers, building Lego's, to building actual buildings!

Scott served a mission in Knoxville, Tennessee, and continues to be a very active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. His favorite calling was as the Ward Clerk a few years ago, but he currently works as a Primary Teacher with Kami.

Since his mission Scott attended and graduated from BYU with a Bachelor's  in Manufacturing Engineering Technology. He even has a fancy certificate as a Green Belt with ASWB (basically he's an expert in efficient-ness in manufacturing, not karate). He also now works as an Design Engineer for Hammerton in Salt Lake.

In the future Scott hopes to teach his children about the gospel and life, have a great relationship with his children and wife, and serve as a senior missionary with Kami.

As written by Kami:
Scott is hands down one of the nicest guys on the planet. He enjoys doting on me, and loves spending time with his nieces and nephew. He tries to find reasons to serve others and can often be found making breakfast or cleaning up for me. He even buys me flowers every few months.

When I asked Scott on our first date, yes I asked, it was incredibly awkward. I had dated his roommate months before and we were very close friends. A few days later we talked about where we were going and Scott turned me down! The very next day though he kissed me, and when I asked him what he was thinking he said, "I've just thought about it all day, and I've decided that you're the best girl I know. Why would I not want to date you?" Well that's a good reason. He later admitted to me that he probably would have never come to the conclusion that we should date, as I was "forbidden" because I had dated his roommate. But me being really upfront about it forced him to think about it, and he decided we needed to be together.

From our dating days.
Scott would be the absolute best dad! As we were going through all of the fertility treatments to try to get pregnant Scott kept telling me that he wanted to adopt, but that he was willing to wait for me to feel comfortable (I needed to know that my parts really didn't work. It's a girl thing). He is incredibly patient and kind, and willing to be silly and have fun with children. His nieces just gravitate to him, and the boy we babysit runs up and wants to be held by him all of the time. When we haven't had a child in our house for awhile for some reason or another, he tells me that he misses having them around.

Scott is allergic to horses, but Alec loves them.
Scott is a hard worker. He loves his job, and tells me about the cool projects he works on all of the time. He helps his dad out with his contracting business if he needs, and helps me around the house and takes care of our garden almost entirely on his own. I have absolutely no fears that he will always be able to provide for our family.

I absolutely love Scott, and look forward to forever with him!
